What OWIS parents and students say

Janelle R., IBDP Batch of 2021
My teachers were incredibly supportive of me and my classmates when doing IB and some really went out of their way to help us as much as they could, which I appreciated so much.

Adeliya F., IBDP Batch of 2023
At OWIS, I've learnt a lot about communication, and how it's important to be proactive, not reactive. I've also learnt that kindness and empathy are key in leadership and collaborative work.

Christina O.
I like that technology plays enough of a part within my children's studies but does not dominate basic skills towards literacy with reading, writing and presentation. There is very much a balance.

MADD Week Day 2 – we kept things going with amazing performances led by our students, who seem to show more and more of their talent as the week goes on!
Highlights from today`s line-up of artistic performances include dramatic Greek Theatre Choruses by Grade 6 students, a pleasantly surprising and rousing performance from our IGCSE Grade 10 students acting out a Drama Repertoire titled "Glass Menagerie", and what I could only describe as a Masquerade Mime improv show comically delivered by Grade 7 students, aptly called "Commedia Del Arte".
It only gets better from here, with events such as a fantastic art exhibition, Battle of the Bands, and "Be A Superstar" coming everyone`s way for the rest of the week. Stay tuned for more talent bursting out of the OWIS Nanyang student body!

MADD Week Day 1 – Back to school shenanigans?
Walking into the Nanyang campus at 9am, just after returning from the CNY holidays, one would have been greeted with the sight of secondary school students swaying in tandem to a hypnotic song – signalling the start of MADD [Music, Arts, Drama, and Dance] Week at OWIS Nanyang.
From the IGCSE Grade 9 students` interpretative dance kicking things off, we were treated to a day of Shakespearean sonnets by Grade 8 students, a drama repertoire of an intentionally fumbled play by Grade 10 students, a bamboo orchestra for the IB PYP students, and finally an experimental music synthesis session dubbed `Music Electronica`.
A day bursting with talent indeed – and certainly a fantastic start to the week!

On 5 February 2026, a group of dedicated IBDP Year 1 students held a pop-up bake sale with two goals in mind – serving delicious baked goods, and supporting the non-profit organisation Community Care Foundation Uganda [CCFU].
CCFU is a growing operation focused on helping vulnerable women, children, and the elderly in the region of Masaka within Uganda. With the bakesale being headlined by students and CCFU ambassadors Suryansh and Ayana, high sales meant that not only were the treats delicious but also that our students are keen to drive such causes to success!
A true reflection of the OWIS spirit and culture!

On 12 February, IGCSE French students from Grades 7 and 9 came together to have in-person conversations about the daily routines in their lives.
This activity marks the premier occasion where collaboration was actively facilitated between these two grades, and it turned out to be a wonderfully engaging and successful experience.
The students, and even the staff, were so caught up in the flow of the activity that finding a way to satisfyingly wrap up was a big challenge!

In the PE lessons held for the EC1 and EC2 grades on 10 February, students practised their balancing skills and spatial awareness through an obstacle course that required a variety of movements such as walking, galloping, and skipping.
After mastering the obstacle course, they progressed to applying their newly-acquired skills in a more challenging course, with added elements like having to hold on to an egg-and-spoon set while manoeuvring in and out of cones.
All participating students clearly demonstrated the Risk-Taker learner profile by having the confidence to take on this acativity. Their ability to perform these skills reflected strong thinking skills and showed that our youngest students are able to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical manner!
