In the May 2025 exams, our students achieved an average score of 33 points, above the global average of 30.58. The IBDP balances academic breadth and depth. Students select six subjects across disciplines, choosing between Higher Level (HL) and Standard Level (SL) courses, allowing them to specialise while maintaining a well-rounded education. OWIS also offers uncommon options such as IBDP Theatre and an Additional Maths track for students aiming for STEM pathways, including engineering.
All students complete the three core components:
- TOK (Theory of Knowledge) – Develops critical thinking and understanding of knowledge across disciplines.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK)
The Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course is compulsory for all IB Diploma students. The culmination of the TOK course involves an oral presentation and essay, where students demonstrate their ability to articulate their thoughts coherently and engage in meaningful discourse on knowledge-related issues.

Through this in-depth research project, students have the opportunity to explore a topic of personal interest in great depth, demonstrating their ability to formulate research questions, gather and analyse data, and construct a coherent argument.

Individuals and societies

Sciences
Students must choose at least one science course in the IB Diploma Programme from options like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, or Environmental Systems and Societies. Language Acquisition
Language Acquisition allows students to select language courses that introduce them to new languages or deepen their understanding of previously studied ones. Language ab initio courses, such as Mandarin, Spanish, and French, are designed for students who have little or no previous experience with the chosen language.

Art
Art is an optional subject group in the IB Diploma Programme. The Arts includes courses like Film, Theatre, and Visual Arts.
